Academic Ableism and Higher Education’s Debt to (Dis)Abled Bodyminds

Author: Brittany Gregg

I have worked in the field of postsecondary disability services for the past 7 years and am currently employed at a large public university in the southeast. In addition to my professional work with students with disabilities, I am also a doctoral student studying higher education administration, with a focus on how disability is framed in the postsecondary context. My theoretical analysis stems from coursework in Disability Studies and other critical theories. I have presented at local conferences and was a previous co-presenter at AHEAD in 2014.
