Advancing Inclusive Teaching: A Framework for Collaboration Between Faculty and Disability Services Providers

Emily Tarconish, CRC, LPC, is a fourth-year PhD student at the University of Connecticut. Her research interests include accommodation provision to students with disabilities in higher education, including improving supports for postsecondary students with brain injuries, a disability with which the presenter herself identifies. Her research also includes developing peer support systems for students with disabilities and tools and strategies to provide disability awareness and inclusivity training to university staff and faculty. Emily’s previous experience includes working as a behavioral specialist, a vocational rehabilitation counselor, and as the Director of Accessibility Services at Clark University.
