Kate Duffy has worked as a transition navigator for college-age students with disabilities and as a director of Universal Design for Learning on a National Science Foundation-funded UMKC college pipeline program for students with disabilities. As Propel’s faculty liason, she serves as a resource for faculty teaching Propel students in inclusive higher education courses. Through her interest in and knowledge of employment, Kate’s role as year two academic advisor is essentially transition support for students to use Propel as a strong foundation and successfully find integrated employment and independence. Ms. Duffy has written four books about employment, with her last book, Developing Talents: Careers for Individuals with Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism, coauthored with Dr. Temple Grandin.
