During my Rehabilitation Counseling graduate program at Winston-Salem State University, I was selected as an RSA Transition Scholar. This allowed me to set a concentration in the area of transition for students with disabilities. Also, during graduate school I interned with Vocational Rehabilitation and oversaw a transition caseload for Mecklenburg County Schools. I was hired immediately after my internship by New Hanover County Schools as a Rehabilitation Counselor overseeing a Transition Caseload for two high schools. I am currently serving as a Disability Coordinator for UNCW, where I work continuous with the local school system to develop curriculum and programs to foster self-advocacy and involvement for students with disabilities in their transition.
