Cross-Cultural Competence as a Tool to Support Identity Development of SWD

Autumn K. Wilke is currently a doctoral student at Colorado State University and completed her M.Ed. in Higher Education with an emphasis on social justice from Iowa State University and holds a Master’s certificate in Postsecondary Disability Services from University of Connecticut. In collaboration with the Second Presenter, Dean Wilke designed the data collection instruments, conducted interviews, and analyzed the data presented in this paper. Dean Wilke is also the co-author of Disability in Higher Education: A Social Justice Approach and has published articles on the experiences of students with disabilities in campus housing. Dean Wilke is a Co-PI on an ACUHO-I grant which partially funded this research. She has presented at ACPA, ASHE, and AHEAD.
