Michelle Shaw, Director Student Accessibility Services, has been working disability services for 16 years. She has extensive experience in many areas of disability office operation including testing, volunteer coordination, consulting, assistive technology, ClockWork database admin and has served as the Director for over three years. She is responsible for representing disabled students' concerns at the university and within the community. Compiling and submitting reports to the Board of Governors for the Johnson Foundation, ALA Reports and other SUS required documents. Also, formulates policy to ensure that the needs of students with disabilities are met in accordance with legal mandate (Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act 2008 and state regulations). She is member of AHEAD since 2005, FL-AHEAD and have had presented at AHEAD in 2011, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019. Lastly, she is currently working on completing the ADA Coordinator Certification Training (ACTCP).
