I have increasingly dedicated time to understanding research and best practices of notetaking in higher education. I was tasked with evaluating and improving notetaking services at Texas A&M University and I learned many lessons the hard way. My expertise draws on my previous responsibilities for departmental assessment (including student development/learning outcomes), serving as an AT specialist (matching students to technology and coaching how to implement it), and academic pursuits of research and reflection. I have presented on various assessment and notetaking topics at previous AHEAD conferences. I’ve also led talks at regional/local conferences on student development, various best practices, and empowering students.
