I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Before working in higher education, I worked in the non-profit sector where I oversaw numerous mental health clinics and provided supervision and support for clinicians with complex and stressful caseloads. A large part of that supervision focused on self-care. During my graduate work, I earned a fellowship at the Veterans Administration where I specialized in working with veterans with PTSD and other trauma-related symptoms. As part of that work, I designed programs intended to increase provider resilience and avoid vicarious traumatization. I have presented on this topic at the VA, at New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) events, and at the New York State Disability Services Council’s (NYSDSC) conference.
