Kristin comes to higher education with a background that encompasses both advocacy and compliance work. Throughout her life she has enjoyed diving into matters of public policy and analyzing how varies policies impact those in marginalized groups. She has also sought ways to ensure that those groups have a voice at the table. Although she has worked in a number of fields, her work has always focused on helping others gain access. Key to providing assistance to others is having a clear understanding of the barriers they face whether they are personal, societal or cultural. She continues to do this in her work at Metropolitan State University in the Center for Accessibility Resources. In addition to her professional expertise she also brings the added understanding of a person with a disability that has experienced higher education as both a traditional and post traditional student.
