Valeri is the Associate Director of disability support services at California State University Channel Islands (CI) and founded CI autism retention programs. Her collaborative relations with faculty, students with autism and student leadership organizations contributes to an inclusive campus climate for students with autism and lead to partnership with Ventura County autism service providers to develop CSUCI World Autism Event & Family Resource Fair, held annually. With 20+ years in the field of disability, Valeri has been recognized by the Autism Society Ventura County as an educational leader in serving students with autism. Valeri has guest lectured at multiple universities and selected to present on inclusive practices for students with autism who are minimally verbal and use communication boards, at state and regional conferences including The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD).
